Summer Saturdays at the beach....

Nope, we don't spend Saturdays basking in the sun, while listening to the laughter of our children as they play in the gentle waves that tickle their cute little toes. Our Saturdays are spent at Villa Rentals checking in the many wonderful vacationers who chose our great beach town for their vacation. But, this summer I did find myself curiously envious of all these families getting to pack and prepare for a family vacation and all the fun yet to be had. And I realized that for the next 10 years, summer vacations will not be a reality for us. But, yesterday was the first Saturday in 6 months that we were all home together and we had a fantastic day! I quickly realized just how very lucky I am to have the family that I have and a business that keeps our family going. While I might not get the opportunity to vacation myself, I get to provide vacations for others. And when all the vacationers have gone home and all the kids are back in school, I get to look forward to spending a Saturday at the beach too.

Gracie's Spectacular Spectacles.....

So today is a big day! Gracie got her glasses! And she looks adorable! Remember seeing Jerry Maguire and falling in love with the "human head weighs 8 pounds" kid? Well, she's even cuter! But, we have a slight problem.......she will wear them for 5-10 minutes, then off they go. So, I have been bribing her with M&M's, train rides, the zoo.......you name it, I am trying it. We'll see how long it takes for the glasses to become a part of her daily life.....but it's only Day 1 so I guess I should just chill out! But in the meantime, at least I am reassured that we are on our way to improving, if not completely curing, her Strabismus! Yeah! Now, I just need to stock up on glasses kits, cleaning cloths.......and oh yeah, more M&M's!

Thank you Bud-Bud.....

So, here I am blogging for the first time ever and who gets the honor of my very first post? My dog Buddy. Yes, it is shameful to write about him first and not my amazing daughter's, but he is currently the one in the room barking, biting and tormenting me for attention. While I adore him, he is relentless. But, had he not been bugging me right this minute, I wouldn't have gotten mad at him and ultimately, decide to tell everyone about his "issues". So I guess I should say "thank you Bud-Bud!" So, here goes to blogging....
